The manuscript describes the history of the Bogler family, originally of Cieszyn, Poland, focusing on Willy and Orah Bogler, who spent the Holocaust in Russia and later immigrated to Israel.     The Dr. Nathan Salczberger and Kahnt family collection consist of documents concerning Dr. Salczberger, a Jewish doctor in occupied France during World War II, and his claims against his former landlords in Paris, the Lavergne family, who had denounced him and confiscated his property while he was imprisoned by the Germans.   8. John Heelan collection

    Consists of twelve photographs from the collection of John Hewitson of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp. Includes photographs of buildings and barbed wire fencing, as well as photographs of corpses found both in the buildings and on the so-called "Dachau death train."

  9. Staff Sgt. Bernard Kemper collection

    Consists of 51 photographs taken by Staff Sgt. Bernard Kemper, a member of the United States Army, upon the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp. Includes photographs of reburial, of German citizens forced to tour the camp, and of corpses prior to reburial. The photos are described as having been taken in Leipzig at the “Tigler” concentration camp, though the images are of Buchenwald, near Leipzig. Also includes copies of Bernard Kempner’s honorable discharge and separation record.

    Consists of five photographs taken by Lt. Albert Montenaro, a member of the 4th Armored Division, after the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp. Includes photographs of corpses and of a pyre in which bodies were burned before liberation.

Includes a large certificate acknowledging Heinrich Steinbach as a bank director, official documents they filled out prior to immigration, the passenger list for their December 1938 immigration to the United States, and wartime family correspondence.

  12. Herbert Steinhouse collection

    Consists of one photograph and photocopies from the collection of Herbert Steinhouse, who was in Europe working for the UNRAA and JDC after the war. The photograph depicts displaced persons in the Bergen-Belsen DP camp, and the collection also contains photocopies and descriptions of post-war Bergen-Belsen photographs and information about Mr. Steinhouse.

The memoir of Renée de Monbrison (September 1939 to August 1944) is a bound copy typed in French. Entries describe time spent in Biarritz, an arrest in Hossegor, plans of fleeing to England, and her attempts to save her aunt, Loulou Warshawsky, from a camp near Tours.     The collection consists of bylaws and correspondence of the local Zionist organizations with Polish authorities regarding funding, agricultural training, membership fees and financial records. This collection also contains card catalogue of the members of the local organization (1934) who went through the agricultural training before making Aliyah to the land of Israel.
