    Testimony, typescript, 12 pages, titled "Skuodas / Skud, Lithuania," by Esther Schwargit, translated by Elisabeth Keston, about events in Skud after Nazi occupation and killing of inhabitants. English and Hebrew versions available.

Consists of thesis submitted by Anja Siebert at the University of Kassel, 1993, as part of her studies in the school of education and/or English, detailing a curriculum to be used to teach students of English using the Holocaust memoir "Seeds of Sarah" by Judith Isaacson.

  3. Documents relating to a Danish survivor of Theresienstadt

    Photocopied press release and news clipping, concerning Mrs. Blima Itzkowitz of Copenhagen, on the occasion of her 90th birthday in 1950. First item is from Danish Information Office in New York, lauding Mrs. Itzkowitz for her life as well as her fortitude during deportation to Theresienstadt, and accompanying news clipping is from unidentified publication in Danish.

  4. Transport list from Auschwitz to Dora-Mittelbau

    Three photocopied items, one of letter to H.J. Hahn of Hildesheim, from director of the Dora-Mittelbau memorial site in 1994, explaining inability to do research because of broken down microfilm readers, but supplying a partial list of passengers on transport from Auschwitz to Dora. Also clippings (copied) from German newspaper with handwritten annotation about Lili Meier recognizing herself in Auschwitz photo album (now at Yad Vashem).

  6. History of the Jews of Kaisersesch (Germany)

    Report, compiled by a resident of the town of Kaisersesch, circa 1970s-1980s, examining Jewish history of town (in Rheinland-Pfalz), and what happened to them during Third Reich. Author tracked down descendants of Jewish emigres in America and obtained further information from them (some photocopied material, also have photo snapshots of houses that formerly belonged to Jewish families and of Jewish cemetery).

  12. Max Edelman papers

    Testimony, typescript, four pages, titled "Liberation Day of a Blind Survivor" by Edelman, written in 1995. Recounts experiences in camps (Flossenbürg), how he was blinded after a severe beating by a guard in 1944, and protected by other prisoners who masked his blindness so he wouldn't be killed. Also contains two copyprint photos of Flossenbürg, as well as a separate copied publication, "Guide to the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp" by Peter Heigl, 29 pages.

  14. A memoir relating to experiences in Russia, and other countries

    Testimony, typescript, 199 pages, titled "A Russian Chronicle, Michael L. Zlatovski, 1881-1951." Inscribed "For Rae and Jack, fondly, Helen." On verso of title page is "Copyright, 1976, Helen Zlatovski-Tenenbaum." Memoir describes life in pre-Revolutionary Russia, the early years of the Soviet Union, and immigration to the United States.

Included are a photograph and identification card for her husband Gerhard Grün, government documents related to Ilse’s imprisonment in Berlin, a list of the names of those who helped her hide in Berlin, post-war correspondence, and clippings related to Elisabeth Bornstein receiving the Medal of the Righteous for helping hide Ilse...

  20. Eugene Zinn memoir

    Testimony, typescript (photocopy), 31 pages, with three copied pages of song text and list of family members who were killed, and description of Auschwitz. Author describes childhood and family in Slovak village of Huncovce, later German occupation, deportation to Auschwitz and experiences there.
