    Torah scroll fragments from the Kluckygasse Synagogue in the 20th disctrict of Vienna, Austria, desecrated on Kristallnacht, November 9-10, 1938. The Torah scroll may have been taken from the orthodox shul. The Torah was torn into four pices and left on the street. It was picked up by a non-Jewish civilian, who stored it in his attic until giving it to the Archive of the Austrian Resistance.

    Pery Broad spent two years as a guard in Auschwitz Birkenau. Broad voluntarily wrote a report of his activities whilst working for the British as a translator in a POW camp after the war. The Broad Report corroborates extermination installations and the burning of corpses. This interview was filmed in 1979 with a hidden camera, known as a Paluche, which caught fire.     The Abraham family papers contain documents and photographs pertaining to Walter and Ruth Abraham, a German-Jewish family, as well as their siblings and parents. During the Holocaust, the Abraham family evaded capture by hiding in several non-Jewish German homes. The documents consist mainly of identification papers such as birth and marriage certificates and identity cards for the Abraham family.     As chief of the German Reichsbahn, Albert Ganzenmüller was responsible for the employment of deportation trains. In July 1942, he wrote a letter to Karl Wolff describing the deportation trains from Warsaw to Malkinia to Treblinka.     Consist of three manuscripts in German and English relating to the life of Elizabeth Koch-Thau during the Holocaust. They were written by Ingrid Decker [donor] in German and translated into English by her daughter. Contains another manuscript in German written by the donor entitled "Die Polenreise" along with some poems written by other authors.

  19. Simon Srebnik - Chelmno

    Simon Srebnik (Shimon Srebrnik) was a boy of 13 when he was deported to Chelmno from the Łódź ghetto. He worked on a Sonderkommando burying those who had been murdered by gas. Srebnik was seriously wounded by Nazi gunfire during the liquidation of the camp, but managed to escape and find refuge with a Polish farmer. The Germans offered a large cash reward for turning Srebnik in, but the Poles, who already feared the approaching Russians more than the Germans, did not betray him.   20. Hans Gewecke

    Lanzmann used a false name and filmed this interview with a hidden camera. See his description of filming Gewecke in his memoir The Patagonian Hare, published 2009 by Farrar Strauss and Giroux, pages 456-457. Gewecke was the Gebietskommissar of Siauliai, Lithuania. In 1971 he was convicted and sentenced to four and a half years in prison for participation in the execution of a Jewish baker for smuggling.
