  1. Max Nachmann collection

    Personal papers of Max Nachmann, including vital records and identity documents, as well as correspondence with institutions, companies and individuals, mainly on his attempts to extract his family from Poland and Germany. There are also personal papers belonging to his wife, siblings, father and aunt. 

  2. Neuengamme trials: Papers of J. C. Giffin

    The collection primarily consists of handwritten notes, presumably by Giffin, on the trials. These cover the testimony provided by the witnesses for the prosecution and the defence made by the accused. In addition there are several official British documents on the case, including the depositions. There are also some statements by the defendants’ lawyers, as well as German press cuttings on the case.

  8. Sekretariat Warburg, 1938-1941: account of its activities by Robert Solnitz

    This typescript report gives an account of the activities of the Sekretariat Warburg, a charitable institution, whose objective was to assist Jews in Hamburg during the Nazi era and was funded by the Warburg banking family. The author is Robert Solnitz, former head of the organisation. It was written in Los Angeles in 1975.

    To commemmorate the 60th anniversary of the Wiener Library in London, a reception was held at the German Embassy in London, where the German ambassador, Dr. von Ploetz, and the chairman of the Wiener Library, Ernst Fraenkel both spoke. This collection comprises the texts of their speeches.
