    De zaak Menten kreeg halverwege de jaren zeventig van de vorige eeuw veel media-aandacht in Nederland. In 1976 werd er door de toenmalige Minister van Justitie Van Agt een onderzoekcommissie aangesteld die het verleden van P.N. Menten moest onderzoeken. In het archief van deze onderzoekscommissie zijn alle stukken bewaard gebleven waar zij gebruik van heeft gemaakt. Het betreft eigen correspondentie en die met het ministerie van Justitie, getuigenverklaringen en het eindrapport van de commissie.
