  3. Collection of memoirs, testimonies and questionnaires of the former prisoners Zbiór pamiętników, relacji i ankiet byłych więźniów (Sygn. VII)

    Contains hundreds of memoirs, diaries, and other written accounts created by former prisoners of Majdanek and nearby camps. Most of these accounts were collected as the result of five projects organized by the State Museum of Majdanek from 1965 to 1980. The projects sought to document how the camps and prisons in the Lublin region operated, the help rendered to victims, children, and the history of the camp of KL Majdanek. Some diaries have been published, and some are just copies obtained from other archives.

    Contains questionnaires, diaries and other documents of the former prisoners of the concentration camp Majdanek. Questionnaires contain information relating to imprisonment and work performed at the camp. Includes also a name list of people transported from Radom, and lists of arrests.

  6. Collection of documents concerning Nazi Prison in the Castle of Lublin Zbiór dokumentów dotyczących hitlerowskiego więzienia na Zamku Lubelskim (Sygn. XVI)

    Contains selected records of the German prison used by the Sicherheitspolizei (SIP) and the Sicherheitsdienstes (SD) in Lublin, commonly referred to as “Castle Prison.” The Castle Prison was established in October 1939. Records includes registers of prisoners, books of out-patient-prisoners, membership and identity cards, soldier’s service books, certificates confirming the stay in prison, death certificates, smuggled letters and drawings from prisoners.

    The collection contains prisoners' correspondence, including secret letters and postcards, diaries, personal documents, as well as notices and orders from German authorities, dating from the years 1939 -1944; as well as lectures and studies about the prison that were conducted after the war. Altogether the collection includes 923 units and 3339 former prisoners’ surveys.
