  6. Eichmann Trial -- Session 89 -- Decision of the court to cancel session

    Session 89. Courtroom. People sitting and waiting for the Judges to enter. Almost immediately, Dr. Servatius runs out of the courtroom (duplicate footage from Tape 2124). 00:12:23 Judges enter. They open the 89th Session of the trial. The President of Court says that the Defense requests this session be cancelled because the medical condition of Eichmann prevents him from being cross examined in both the morning and afternoon. They cancel the morning session, and adjourn. Shots of people leaving.

  7. Adler typewriter with fitted case used by a Jewish family in a displaced persons camp

    Adler typewriter with gray case purchased by Shaya Yurfest from a local German while the family was living in Windsheim displaced persons camp in 1946. The family used it to assist other refugees with their paperwork.

  8. Irving Heymont collection

    The collection consists of a paperweight, correspondence, documents, photographs, a publication, reports, and a videocassette relating to the experiences of Irving Heymont, then a Major, 5th Regiment, 71st Infantry, during and after World War II in Germany, including the liberation of Gunskirchen concentration camp and his administration of Landsberg displaced persons camp in Germany, as well as continuing educational and commemorative activities.

    Contains photographs taken in the Dachau concentration camp after the liberation in April 1945. Staff Sergeant John Paul Wronski (donor’s late husband), born on April 21, 1917 in Buffalo, NY, who served as a radio operator in 312th Air Fighter Control Squadron, under General Patton. Mr. Wronski wrote on the back of the photographs description of what he saw in the liberated camp. Mr. Wronski participated in D-Day crossing into Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944.     Contains a Red Cross letter written by Arpad Stern (donor's great uncle) to Salomon Stern (donor's grandfather), December 1943, Rimaszecs, Hungary. Received by Salomon Stern, July 1944, in New York. Form is printed in Hungarian, French, and German, with message written in Hungarian. Text reads: "Dear Róza and Salomon we are well but without shop and income we would like to hear good news from you please write to us Kisses Arpad and Piroska;" Salamon Stern received the telegram months after it was created.
