    This footage was shot by a baker who supplied bread to Dachau concentration camp. See Stories 1282, 1283, and 1284 for related footage. The family (and others?) of the baker gathered around the family dining table, eating and celebrating a first communion. One of the girls is dressed in white with a headband of white flowers.     The Stadelheim death certificates consists of certificates documenting the deaths of prisoners at the Stadelheim prison in Munich, Germany, between 1942-1944. The certificates indicate that the vast majority of the prisoners were executed by beheading in groups and their bodies transferred to the Anatomical Institute in Munich.     Contains documents from the Jura, a mountainous, sparsely-populated region on the eastern border of France, once part of the Franche-Comté. The documents concern the anti-Jewish laws put into effect, certain Jews who held government jobs and were given special permission to keep them, the cancellation of Vichy laws allowing lawful pillaging of Jewish property under “Aryanization”, letters that singled out Jews in hiding to the authorities, documents dealing with foreigners who had been given exile in 1939, arrests of Jews by German authorities, and post-war Zionist youth camps.

    Contains documents concerning the refugee centers in Chambon-sur-Lignon, run by La Cimade (Côteau-Fleuri) and La Maison-des-Roches. Daniel Trocmé, nephew of Pastor Trocmé and director of the latter, was sent to Buchenwald when a round-up occurred (see PV of his arrest). Also includes records from internment camps like Tence, records connected to Gurs on Noé, and police records relating to immigration, foreign workers in forced labor brigades, house arrests and surveillance of foreigners, round-ups, education and teachers.

  20. George C. Gross photographs

    Consists of photographic negatives of images of the "death train" from which concentration camp prisoners from Bergen-Belsen were liberated near Farsleben (near Magdeburg, Germany) in April 1945. The prisoners had been placed on the train and departed Bergen-Belsen prior to the camp's liberation though the train had no intended destination. The images were taken and acquired immediately by George Gross, who was part of the 743rd Tank Battalion which secured the train while others in the unit sought provisions for the newly liberated prisoners.
