Acquisition

The documents of the Landrat (district councillor) Chomutov remained after the end of its activities in the building of the office (after 1945, it was the seat of the District National Committee Chomutov). In 1953, they were taken over by the former Regional Archives Litoměřice (since 1954, the State Archives Litoměřice, since 1974, the State Regional Archives Litoměřice), where they were, in 1956-1957 and then in 1960, arranged and inventoried. In 1979, the entire archive collection was handed over to the District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadaň (since 1992, the State District Archives Chomutov, based in Kadaň).

Scope and Content

The debts of persons of the Jewish origin, evicted/escaped from the district of Chomutov, the administration of the ayrianized assets and trades - temporary administration, Treuhänder, etc. The register of people of the Jewish origin, 1943; the liquidation of a Jewish law firm and dealing with its claims, 1941.

System of Arrangement

The archive collection is divided into two parts: A. Books ,from 1938-1945 B. Files, from 1938-1945 (broken down into the government documents, the municipal government documents, and the documents of the Financial Audit Office, the District Agricultural Office and the Nutrition Office). The attached amendment includes files relating to the damage caused by air raids in 1944-1945.
