    The bulk of this collection consists of the applications of the members of the union for loans and financial assistance. The credit union was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to working Jewish intelligentsia and members of their families. The trade union in Lwow, Poland (now L'viv, Ukraine) served as the central office for the whole of Eastern Galicia (Malopolska) .

    Contains one diary written by Dr. Adolf Guttentag in Berlin, Germany in 1942. In the diary, Dr. Guttentag described his experiences as a Jew in Berlin, anticipated his deportation to Theresienstadt, and addressed his son Otto, who had been able to emigrate to the United States, instructing Otto how to remember his parents. At the end of the diary, which is written in German, Dr. Guttentag wrote goodbye to his son and chronicled the date on which he and his wife committed suicide.     Videotape testimony of Bert E., who served in the United States Army in World War II. He recounts serving in a tank battalion of the 4th Armored Division; deployment to Europe in 1944; entering Ohrdruf concentration camp; emaciated prisoners; stacks of corpses; his state of shock; and assignment to occupation forces in Wilseder Berg where they found prisoners bodies in a mass grave, and then organized a proper funeral. He reads excerpts and shows photographs, including his own, from the history of the 4th Armored Division.

The documents that were preserved in the legacy are connected mainly to the personal files of four brothers, Félix, Jenő, Pál and Béla Halmi, and their sister, Piroska who were active in the political, social and cultural life of Košice. Many of the documents belonging to the family legacy concerns the life and survival strategies of the familiy after the first Vienna Award in 1938 and during the holocaust.
