Der nach seinem Leiter benannte Baustab Stachowitz war eine Organisationseinheit des GBI. Ende Februar, Anfang März 1941 ist der Baustab Stachowitz von der Änderung der Organisationsstruktur betroffen. Er wird dem Baustab Speer unterstellt und firmiert von da an als Baugruppe Stachowitz. Sowohl unter der Bezeichnung Baustab als auch Baugruppe trägt er oft den Vorsatz L.S. für Luftschutz.
