    The fonds includes documents of the Amtsgericht (District Court) of Vimperk from the period of the German occupation. The preserved files concern administrative and judicial agendas, both criminal and civil ones (disputes, seizures of property, inheritance, and guardianships), and the agenda of land books from 1938-1945. The criminal files include documents concerning national and racial discrimination, illegal crossing of the border, etc. Except for the agenda of inheritance court the fonds has been well preserved.

    The Elmer Rothermich letter consists of a nine page letter with an envelope, written by Elmer Rothermich on April 10, 1945, in Germany, describing his experiences liberating the Ohrdruf concentration camp as a member of the 81st Field Infantry Battalion of the United States Army. Also includes additional information regarding Mr. Rothermich's service record, his wife's memories of the receipt of this letter, and a copy of an article in the St. Charles, MO "Banner News" quoting from the letter.

    Consists of one manuscript, in print and on CD-ROM, entitled "A Long Road Home: The Life and Times of Grisha Sklovsky, 1915-1995", written by John Nicholson in 2007. Mr. Sklovksy was born in Siberia, but following the Russian Revolution, his family moved to Berlin, where he attended school. In 1934, Mr. Sklovsky moved to France and studied at the University of Lyon. In October 1939, he joined the Czech Brigade and spent the war fighting with the British Army, while his mother, Chaja Sklovsky, was deported from Drancy in 1942 and perished in the Holocaust.     Anti-semitic propaganda book created as promotional material for a Nazi sponsored exhibition of the Der Ewige Jude [The Eternal Jew)," which opened in Germany in November 1937. According to an exhibit promotional postcard, canceled December 18, 1937, the installation was considered by the Nazi party to be a "great political exhibition" and was on display daily in the Munich German Museum.

    The Max Shattner photograph collection consists of photographs related to the wartime experiences of Max Shattner, who survived the war in a Swiss internment camp. The photographs depict Shattner with other refugees living in the camp, and the collection also includes copyprints of his post-war life and family. Also includes a 1972 recording of Mr. Shattner singing German and Hebrew songs, including opera arias, liturgical songs, a Bialik poem, and "Die Uhr."

Taylor gives a brief history of the Krupp concern and a resume of the Krupp family until the outbreak of WWI.

  12. Eugene Berger collection

    Consists of two identity cards and two photographs. One card is for the Diplaced Persons Assembly Center 578, Lampertheim, has Eugene Berger's photograph on it, and is signed by the Director of the UNRRA. The second card is for securing rations and has Mr. Berger's right thumb print on the card. Both are dated 1946. The two photographs are of post-war Buchenwald. The photographic print of the Weimar civilians looking at the gallow has dittoed information on the back and is from "Photo-France A.E.P." The photograph of the bodies at the camp has very faint dittoed information on it.
