  1. UNITED JEWISH RELIEF AGENCIES (UJRA)

    This fonds is divided into 11 major series, relfecting the principal activities of the organization, with an emphasis on the WWII and postwar period.

  2. Henry Morgentaler and Gertrude Katz

    This fonds is divided into three sections. The first consists of correspondence, writings, and other materials that directly pertain to Dr. Henry Morgentaler or were authored by him. The second section consists of documents pertaining to Gertrude Katz's role in the Morgentaler Clinics, her professional and creative writings, and her volunteer activities. The third consists of additional biographical material donated by Gertrude Katz, including information about other family members, notably about the World War II experience of her husband Carl in the merchant marine.

  5. Jennie Phillips fonds

    Fonds consists of photographs, vital records, personal notes, transcribed songs, correspondence and ephemera relating to the life of Jennie Phillips. Fonds has been arranged into the following series: JP photographs series (1912–1982), JP vital records series (1953–1979), JP personal papers series (1946–1987), Transcribed ghetto and camp songs series (1946), Stutthof Museum correspondence series (1984–1985) and JP ephemera series (1972).

  6. WERNER, Rebecca (Dresher)

    Diary, 1936 by teenage Rebecca Dresher, written after older sister's death. Photo/clippings album, including letters, photos, poems, correspondence, translations from Polish and Yiddish, about family members who were victims of Holocaust and surviving family in Israel. Includes pre-1939 correspondence from relatives describing conditions in Poland. Pre-WWII photos of Lipton, Sonnenfeld, Hoffer Jewish farm families and Winnipeg family, post-WWII family photos from Montreal, photos (including colour) of pastry store in East End Montreal

  7. Pichos Zozulya collection

    The collection consists of correspondence from Pichos Zozulya to his descendants, describing the family’s experience of the Holocaust and its aftermath. Also includes a photograph of Pichos Zozulya dated 1964. Collection has been arranged into two files: Letters (1944) and Photograph (1964).

  8. Ejnesman, Kornwaser family photograph collection

    Collection is comprised of original photographs and photo postcards of Shoshana Fidelman’s grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts and siblings, none of whom survived the Holocaust. Photographs were taken in Poland prior to the Second World War and mailed by Shoshana Fidelman’s family living in Starachowice-Wierzbnik and Bodzentyn to family members in Canada and Israel.

    Contains 4 letters from Becker addressed to wife (Augusta) from Eastern European cities on July 23, 24, and 26, and August 2, 1946, describing his work through the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Also contains a transcribed copy of a letter addressed to son Hillel Becker in June of 1946 from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

    22 TIFF scans of photos borrowed from her personal album, showing Eschwege DP camp. Glasterhausen orphanage. Hamburg and scenes after immigrating to Montreal. Some are portraits of the donor and some include husband Leon and friends, aunt.

  19. Family Remembrance

    Contains two booklets of Holocaust memorials, 'Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Commemoration Service, 1995' and "We Will Not Forget Them - In Memory of the Jews of Vilna (1943- 1963)." Herein Sonia Tencer (nee Smolnik) tells the story of the murder of her brother, Leib Smolknik, during the Holocaust.
