    Consists of records relating to the operations of the Union Générale des Israélites de France (UGIF) Commission des Camps, The Commission des Camps was headquartered in Toulouse, halfway between the camps of Gurs and Rivesaltes, and proximate to three other camps. The Commission's goal was the centralization of camp archives. The collection includes hundreds of letters from refugees and internees, testifying to the plight of Jews in France during occupation.

  4. Rosa Goldberg envelope

    The envelope was sent by Rosa Goldberg from Millergasse 12.-16, Kassel, Germany to Morris Moidel at 4 Equality Park, W. Newport, RI, USA. The Moidel family were friends of the Goldberg family in Kassel and managed to get visas and immigrate to the United States before the war. The envelope bears four stamps of German National Insignia, encircled with "Oberkommando der Wermacht." The word "Geöffnet" is stamped three times on the the verso. The whereabouts of the former contents of the envelope are unknown.

    Consists of copies of various letters and government-generated documents relating to the fate of Roma in Austria during and after the Holocaust. The documents focus on topics such as deportations, establishment of concentration camps for Roma, forced labor of Roma, and transports of Roma to Mauthausen and Auschwitz.

    This collection comprises 3 separate deposits, of which the provenance of only 2 can be identified. 809/1 was deposited by R D Gray in November 1988 along with a number of books and pamphlets, which have been catalogued separately as part of the Wiener Library book and pamphlet collections.     Consists of two memoirs, one of Alejandro (Elhanan) Landman, born in Poland in 1933. Mr. Landman reconstructed by memory his childhood diary, which relates his life in German-occupied eastern Poland between 1941-1945 (25 pages). The other memoir is of Mrs. Pepe Landman, mother of Alejandro, written from Montevideo in 1986-1987, relating the Holocaust experiences of herself and her family (67 pages). The baby album documents Marianne van Geuns' childhood and was compiled by her mother, Rozia Vreede van Geuns. The other photographs in the collection depict Marianne’s parents Rozia and Simon van Guens at the time of their wedding, Marianne’s birth, and various extended family members, most of whom perished in the Holocaust.
