    Records concerning the discrimination and persecution of foreign and Italian Jews in Italy in the community of Taranto. The archive contain relevant documents within the Prefettura and Questura, e.g. 1938 census, foreign Jews living in Italy, and a list of all strangers living in the Taranto region.

  9. Selected records of the Prison in Łódź Więzienie Łódzkie (Sygn. 197) : Wybrane materialy

    Contains the personal files of prisoners: admission order, prisoners description, a visit permit, an exemption order, a list of penalties, petitions and complaints. The prisoners were convicted mailny for crimes like as: organizing illegal border crossing, distributing communist materials, polygamy and financial fraud, belonging to the Communist Union of Polish Youth, and organizing bomb attacks on Jewish enterprises.

    The collection consists of photographs of the extended family and friends of Frajda Tauba Birsztajn as well as her mother, Aidla Berlandsztein’s family, before, during, and after the war in Poland and the United States.     Consists of a photographic postcard depicting Jewish men and boys, with armbands, seated with hands on their heads. Armed guards are visible in the background. The postcard was acquired by survivor Chaim Fuchs. Chaim, born 1923 in Krosniewice, Poland, was a survivor of Auschwitz and other camps. An inscription on the reverse of the postcard reads, "Bürkenau," though its relationship to the scene captured is unclear.

  18. J. Herbert Nagler papers

    The J. Herbert Nagler papers consist primarily of letters Nagler wrote to his parents in Philadelphia while he was studying medicine in Berlin, Germany and in Basel and Fribourg, Switzerland. His letters include his impressions of the last years of the Weimar Republic, the Nazi party and Hitler’s assumption of power, the situation of Jews in Germany, and the April 1, 1933 anti-Jewish boycott. The collection also includes an electronic typescript of Nagler’s letters and a digital image of Nagler.
