One post-war identification card issued to David Kaplan, identifying him as former Auschwitz prisoner, issued at DP camp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen; several postcards (issued by "Der Antifaschist") showing post-liberation scenes of Dachau, 1945; and one printed handbill (two pages), titled "Das Krematorium in Dachau," containing an eyewitness report from Willy Furlan-Horst.

Correspondence from Kaplan, in DP camps and elsewhere in post-war Europe, to his aunt, Fanny Seidel, in U.S. Also contains correspondence from Jacob Bleaman, who while with U.S. Army in Heidelberg, helped arrange for David's transport from camp for children in Vienna to Heidelberg, and eventually to U.S.

Collection contains information regarding the donor's husband, David Kaplan, and his displaced persons status after the Holocaust. A survivor of Auschwitz, in the photographs, David Kaplan is seen wearing his camp uniform, and documents stating that he was a political prisoner and assigned a prisoner number. The documentation states that Kaplan was hired by the U.S. Army and the photographs show him with his batallion.
