Iosif was a fur merchant in Bulgaria and Rivka worked in a factory. The family was traditional. At the outbreak of the war, Iosif ws sent to a labor camp for three years, 1940-1943. The family was supposed to be deported West to the camps and even received a call-up order, but it was stopped at the last minute. The family made aliya to Eretz Israel in 1946.
