Biographical History
Středověké židovské osídlení, existující od 13. století, zaniklo po vypovězení r. 1454. Novodobá náboženská obec se konstituovala v polovině 19. století. Po 2. světové válce byla obnovena, existuje dodnes.
Acquisition
Archiválie se dostaly do židovského muzea v Praze za druhé světové války v rámci svozů historicky cenných předmětů a písemností zrušených židovských náboženských obcí Čech a Moravy.
Scope and Content
Jedná se o nepatrné zlomky materiálu převážně nalezené v mimobrněnských fondech. Většinou jsou to drobné tisky: stanovy ŽNO (1894), stanovy a výroční zprávy několika spolků, pamětní spis o zlepšení státně-občanských poměrů Židů. Z doby nacistické okupace pochází poučení o povinnosti přihlásit umělecké a drahocenné předměty, zemědělské a lesní pozemky, cizozemská platidla a pohledávky vůči cizině (1939) a kniha záznamů o sňatcích z let 1941 – 1942.

Biographical History
The medieval Jewish settlement of Brno was founded in the 13th century and disbanded after the expulsion of the Jews in 1454. A Jewish community was established in the middle of the 19th century and was liquidated during the Nazi occupation. The community was re-established after the Second World War and exists to this day.
Acquisition
The documents were taken to the Jewish Museum as part of the wartime shipment of artefacts and documents from Jewish Religious Communities liquidated during the WWII.
Scope and Content
This collection contains fragmentary materials that were mostly found in fonds from areas outside Brno – primarily minor printed materials: the community's statutes (1894), the statutes and annual reports of several Jewish associations, and a memorial document on the improvement of civic conditions for the Jews. From the period of the Nazi occupation there is a 1939 instruction on the obligation to register artefacts and valuable objects, agricultural and forestry land, foreign currency, and debts to foreign individuals, as well as a marriage register from 1941–1942.
