    The collection contains 7793 questionnaires. Information for questionnaires were gathered by the The Central Historical Commission (CHC) of the Central Committee of Liberated Jews in the U.S. Zone, Munich) from a large number of Holocaust survivors. This data concern the estimated number of Jews before the war in their communities, the number of Jewish victims, destroyed and robbed Jewish property, slave labor, concentration camps, and the like.

    The Hans R. Fliegel memoir, "The Holocaust and the Viennese Family Fliegel", describes Fliegel’s childhood in Vienna, the Anschluss, Isidore Lipschutz’s help securing Belgian visas for the Fliegel family, their year spent in Antwerp, immigration to the United States, and difficulties in starting a new life and establishing a career in New York. The memoir includes recollections by Fliegel’s brother Fred (Fritz), biographical sketches of family members, family trees, and photocopies of Austrian, Belgian, and American records documenting Fliegel’s story.

Inscriptions from friends and family include Anne Frank and Susanne "Sanne" Ledermann.     Consists of one photograph of Zoltan Mathe at age 13 in Budapest, Hungary, wearing a Magen David. The photograph is dated August 10, 1944.     Consists of approximately 2,166 inactive case files of Jewish Holocaust survivors who claimed restitution for suffering and damage resulting from persecution by the Nazis during the period 1933 to 1945. The cases contain information on life in Nazi occupied areas, conditions in concentration camps, and experiences of displaced persons and survivors during and following the Holocaust. Among the documents are sworn affidavits of witnesses, testimonies of the survivors (claimants), and indemnity claims against the German government.
