History

The Archive of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Macedonia - together with the library of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Macedonia, was formed in the period after the liberation of Macedonia (November 1944). The first constitutional Meeting of the Jewish community in Macedonia after the liberation, was held on December 26th, 1944, in Skopje. Georgi Blajer-Gjoko was elected for the President of the Jewish community in Skopje.

Архив - Еврејска заедница на РМ - заедно со библитеката, е формиран по ослободувањето на Македонија (ноември, 1944), кога е возобновена Еврејската заедница во Скопје. Првата конституттивна седница на Еврејската заедница во Македонија по осободувањето е одржана на 26.12 1944 година во Скопје. Ѓеорги Блаер-Ѓоко е избран за претседател на Еврејската заедница во Скопје.

Archival and Other Holdings

The Archive of the Jewish Community of the Republic of Macedonia, contains material related to different periods of the existence of the Jews in Macedonia, mainly in the period before the Holocaust and after the Holocaust.

The most significant records are:

  • Register books of the Jews in Skopje, 1919-1943

  • 1945 List of Jews registered in the Jewish Community in Skopje

  • Complaint lodged by the Macedonian-Jewish Community Bitola to the Department for Protection of the People from March 1st, 1945

  • The Complaint lodged by the Macedonian-Jewish Community, No.28, from March 25th, 1945, to the Investigative Commission for Determination of Crimes committed by the Occupiers and their Collaborators at the Central People’s liberation Committee in Skopje

Архивот на Еврејската заедница на Република Македонија содржи значаен материјал со потекло од различни периоди од опстпјувањето на Евреите во Македонија, особено во периодот пред и по холокаустот.

Меѓу најзначајните зачувани материјали се:

  • Матични книги 1919-1943 на Евреите од Еврејската општина во Скопје

  • Тужба од македонско-еврејската општина Скопје, Бр. 28, од 25 март 1945, до Истражната комисија за утврдување на злосторствата на окупаторите и нивните помагатели при Централниот народноослободувачки комитет во Скопје

  • Список на Евреите кои се пријавени во Еврејската општина во Скопје, 1945 година

  • Тужба од македонско-еврејската општина Битола до Одделот за заштита на народот од 1 март 1945

Opening Times

Every working day between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., except during national and Jewish holidays.

Секој работен ден меѓу 9.30-14 часот, освен за време на државни празници и празници од еврејскиот календар.

Conditions of Access

The archival material is accessible after the researcher submits a written request to the Community Committee, explaining the purpose of the request, the topic of research and the duration of the research. After the Community Committee's approval of the request, the researcher can access the material at the Archive.

Користењето на материјалите е достапно по пат на писмено барање од страна на истражувачот до Одборот на Заедницата и одобрение од иститот.
