Pazner, Chaim

Chaim Pazner first became active in the Hehalutz movement in Poland. In Danzig, he was director of the Committee of Assistance of Polish Refugees (1920-1922), representative for the Jewish Telegraphic Association (1921-1923) and head of the Labour Zionist movement (1931-1937). As one of the leaders of the League for Labour Eretz Israel in Wloclawek, Pazner was sent as a representative to the 12th Zionist Congress and other Zionist assemblies. He occupied the function of director of the Palestine Office, first in Danzig (1934-1938) and later in Geneva (1940-1948). He represented the Jewish Agency Finance Department in Europe at the same time. After the war, Pazner moved to Israel where he held important functions in the Finance Ministry. He was also a lecturer at Geneva University.
