Biographical History

Jacob Zerubavel was an author, journalist, and leader (and cofounder) of the socialist Zionist party Poale Zion. He was one of the main leaders of Poale Zion (and Linke Poale Zion, after the split) in Poland between 1918-1935. Zerubavel returned to Palestine in 1935. There he held functions in the Histadrut, the Vaad Hatzala as well as the Zionist Executive; he was also active in i.a. the Israel-USSR Friendship League and the Yiddish Writers Union. Zerubavel was the editor of several newspapers (i.a. the press of Poale Zion) and the author of many books and articles.
