Biographical History

The Union of Sephardic Congregations was founded in the United States in 1929, with the goal of promoting the religious interests of Sephardic Jews. Its main activities were publishing prayer books (with English translations) and distributing them to communities all over the world, organising religious training for rabbis, cantors and Yeshiva scholars, and providing assistance to Sephardic refugees and communities devastated by the Second World War.
