  1. Buchenwald and Gardelegen photographs

    Consists of one leather photograph album containing photographs taken in May 1945 of the Buchenwald concentration camp, as well as signs for the Gardelegen cemetery for victims of the Gardelegen massacre. Captions are written under each photograph.

    Consists of fourteen photographs from the collection of Basil Peter Malamis, a member of the United States Army during World War II. Consists of twelve graphic photographs of corpses used for medical experimentation which were discovered at the Natzweiler concentration camp and two photographs, presumably taken by Mr. Malamis, of the crematorium at Buchenwald; these photographs are captioned.

    .50 Reichsmark Buchenwald Aussenkommando [Outside Command] coupon for SS Ko. Rottleberode concentration camp in Germany. Buchenwald opened on July 19, 1937, and issued undated notes in 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 mark denominations. The simply designed notes were printed on coarse paper. There were two types of coupons: canteen scrip and exchange scrip issued to members of outside labor brigades [Aussenkommandos.] In early April 1945, as US forces approached Buchenwald concentration camp, the German guards began to evacuate the camp.
