  10. Collection of photo albums Zbiór albumów fotograficznych (Sygn. 1624)

    Two German albums: The first album consists of 140 photos taken in Warsaw, the photographs are documenting the activity of German officials, public celebrations of German events, 1942-1943. The second album contains 50 photographs taken in Warsaw in 1939-1944. It was donated by a citizen of the GDR in 1972, Hermana Nickel from Schoenebeck.

  13. L.P. Klink postcard

    Postcard sent to Anna Schlamm (donor's paternal grandmother) in Brooklyn, New York, from her nephew L.P. Klink in Riga, Latvia, 1946. In the postcard, he informs her that ."..all of our relatives have been cruelly murdered..."; dated February 1945, but postmarked February 1946.

    Reports, memories and other materials relating to peasant underground movement, labor camps, prisons and concentration camps, such as lists of the dead, organizational structures of the Peasant Battalions (BCH), reports of BCH members' meetings, correspondence, copies of secret messages written in the camp, speeches, descriptions, surveys and others concerning the territories of occupied Poland.

  15. Collection of 3831 photographs made by members of the Peasant Movement Zbiór 3831 zdjęć wykonanych przez członków Ruchu Ludowego

    Consists of catalog cards with the photo collection from a grup of records: K4-BCH Lwów-Rawa Mazowiecka. Each card contains the photograph and its description along with the date (not always). Photographs relate to World War II: military actions, Polish Armed Forces in the West (Polskie Siły Zbrojne na Zachodzie, PSZ), prisoners of war, occupant policy, terror, Peasant Battalions (Bataliony Chłopskie, BCH)-Main Headquarters and armed units (partisans), and commemoration events after WWII.

  16. Shutters

    Pair of shutters from Taize, France, from the house in which between 1940 and 1942 Brother Roger, founder of the Communaute de Taize, hid refugees including Jews. The shutters served as a sign indicating to the refugees after police visits to the premises, the point at which the refugees could come back to the house without danger.

  17. Schwarzbaum and Lesorgen families papers

    The collection primarily documents the prewar and postwar experiences of the Schwarzbaum and Lesorgen families, originally of Sosnowiec, Poland, and consists of biographical and immigration documents, restitution paperwork, and photographs. The bulk of the material documents the postwar experiences of Fela Schwarzbaum (Fela Lesorgen) and Lewek Lesorgen (Leon Lesorgen) as displaced persons prior to immigration to the United States, where they later met and married.   18. Elihu H. Rickel papers

    The bulk of this collection relates to Commander Elihu Rickel’s time in China, and in particular Tianjin, in 1945-1946, while serving as a chaplain with the U.S. Marine Corps. While there, he sought to raise awareness about the condition of the Jewish community in Tianjin, which was comprised primarily of Jews who had fled Europe in the late 1930s. The second series of documents in this collection contains, in part, a report that Rickel wrote about the community, a letter he sent to Rabbi Stephen Wise, and a journalistic account of Rickel’s ministry among the Jewish community.   20. R. Bruce Culbreth collection

    Contains a program titled “War-Crime / Trials / Nurnberg / Germany / Nov. 20, 1945 -” that includes a typed floor plan of courtroom and a list and description of each of the defendants. The program was kept by Pfc. R. Bruce “Slim” Culbreth (donor’s father), a member of the US Army’s 302nd Infantry, 94th Division during WWII and who served as a guard during the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.
