  1. Mania Lichtenstein collection

    Contains photographs, almost entirely of unknown postwar displaced persons camps. Many photographs are labeled on verso as images of pro-Palestine gatherings, weddings, families, and events. Two photographs included in the collection depict Janina Zawadska in Włodzimierz, Poland, a Roman Catholic woman who hid Mania Lichtenstein and another child in the winter of 1943-44. Janina gave Mania the photographs.

  2. Kahn and Oppenheimer families papers

    Documents related to the extended family of Julius Kahn, originally of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Includes an employee identification book ("Arbeitsbuch") used by an employee of his book manufacturing company, and receipts for taxes paid by member of the Oppenheimer family (donor's maternal grandmother's family) in Frankfurt, 1938-1939.

  3. Benno Elkan collection

    Contains a letter, dated March 2, 1935 to Benno Elkan, stating that he was unable to openly pursue an art career because he was Jewish; a stammbuch of Benno and Hedwig Elkan documenting their marriage and birth of their children, Ursula and Wolf; a letter to Wolf's son Matthew (donor) dated 1985; signature of Benno Elkan on scrap of paper; a photograph of Hedwig and Benno; and a document of change of residence to London.

  4. Archief gemeente Kortgene

    De gemeente Kortgene werd in 1941 gevormd door de samenvoeging van Colijnsplaat, Kats en Kortgene. In 1995 ging Kortgene op in de gemeente Noord-Beveland. Onder de rubrieknummers 2.07.51 en 2.07.52 worden de notulen van de raadsvergaderingen en van de vergaderingen van het college van B&W aangetroffen. Stukken die betrekking hebben op het personeel zijn vermeld onder rubrieknummer 2.08. De burgerlijke stand is gerubriceerd onder nummer 1.755. Hierin kunnen zich gegevens bevinden die betrekking hebben op de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

  5. David Friedman artwork and letter

    Artwork by and letter from donor's grandfather, David Friedman. The collection includes three pages of preliminary sketches created in1963-1964 for drawings and etching plates (the etchings were produced in 1967), as well as a copy of a letter dated September 19, 1972. The original letter, which begins "Lieber Heinz" (Dear Heinz), was adhered to the back of an etching by David Friedman which was gifted to fellow Łódź Ghetto survivor Heinz Konig. Additionally, the collection includes two etchings dated 1967 titled "In Łódźer Ghetto, Some Found Food in Trash Containers."

    File 1 contains, particularly, an order by Barashi district administration to the elder of Barashi village to make and submit to the district administration the list of the property which left from the Jews in the village.

  8. Exodus Protest

  9. Klinger family collection

    The collection consists of two German stateless passports ("Fremdenpass") issued to Leon and Gisele Klinger [parents of Walter Klinger] in December 1939 in Vienna, Austria. Included in the passports are immigration visas issued by the American Consul in "Vienna, Germany."

  10. Eric and Fee Goldfarb collection

    Consists of autograph book owned by Felicitas (Erica) Beyth (entries date from 1937-1940), French identity card for foreigners for Felicitas Beyth Goldfarb (1948) and wartime and post-war documents regarding Eric Goldfarb, including a copy of a form giving the "Comite Israelite Pour Les Enfants" custody and power of attorney for Eric Goldfarb. Also includes a photocopy of a "constitution" written at the La Guette children's home, in which the children decided to create a representative democracy.

  11. Frances Hoytash Caminer photographs

    Consists of 13 photographs from the collection of Frances Hoytash Caminer. Though born in the United States, Frances and her family spent 1928-1938 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. The photographs depict Frances and her family in Prague during the 1930s. Included are photographs of her uncle Otto and his son Peter, and her uncle and aunt Julius and Walda Eisner with their children, Lily, and Jirka, all of whom perished during the Holocaust.

  12. Gerry Blumenfeld papers

    The papers consist of 33 photographs and a document relating to the experiences of Idek Blumenfleld [donor] during the Holocaust in Bedzin, Poland; Leipheim, Germany; Barletta, Italy; Tel-Aviv, Israel; and Melbourne, Australia.

  13. Esther Brookmeyer collection

    Five letters and one envelope written by Fischel Kirschenbaum to his uncle Bernard Kirschenbaum dated 1935-1939. Six photographs depicting family members of donor's father, Beni Kirschenbaum and one postcard with Jewish New Year wishes sent to donor's father from Fischel Kirschenbaum.

  14. Burying the dead

    Bodies of Latvian Nationalists murdered by GPU in or around Riga. Men carrying dead bodies on stretchers. Placing bodies into coffins. CU, woman mourning. CU, two young boys dead on ground. Woman with kerchief on head wailing over a dead man, wringing her hands, her wailing is audible.

  15. Emil Hischler collection

    Contains documents and photographs illustrating the experiences of Emil Hischler and Margarethe Broeder (Bruder), who fled Nazi-occupied Slovakia (Emil) and Vienna (Margarethe) via Rhodes (on board the "Pentcho," which sank off the coard of Kamila Nisi, Rhodes in 1940) and the Ferramonti camp in Italy.
