Hier kunt u, in de gedeeltes over de oorlogsjaren mogelijk relevante informatie vinden.

    Op het moment van de bezetting was Johan Westrik burgemeester van Barneveld. Hij werd aangesteld als burgemeester op 20 april 1925 en hij moest deze post gedwongen neerleggen op 1 juni 1946. De burgemeester moest onderduiken in augustus 1944 omdat hij een weermachtsorder negeerde. Het archief bevat de neerslag van de taken en activiteiten van de gemeente.     The Archive "Memories of the Occupation in Greece" contains 93 testimonies of witnesses of the German occupation of Greece during WW2. The interviews are biographical interviews with witnesses of various experiences such as: Resistance fighters, victims of the massacres, survivors of bombings, Jews in Hiding, Shoah survivors, as well as people who were arrested during raids in Athens and other places and deported to Germany.   11. Ohrdruf liberation photograph

    Photograph taken at Ohrdruf concentration camp in 1945. Photograph shows four men with arms raised surrounded by United States Army soldiers. In the foreground is a pile of charred wood and what appears to be skulls. One camp inmate is shown talking to the soldiers on the left-hand side of the photograph. In script on the back of the photograph: "Ordroff [sic] Concentration Camp 30 min. after capture."

    Consists of a small book entitled "Mitglieder=Grundbuch" consisting of the handwritten names and membership numbers of members of the Bund Deutscher Mädel (League of German Girls) from an unknown town. Also includes a Russian postcard sent to Lemberg in 1943 depicting a drawing of frontier men discovering a Russian town, and a photograph of a group of young men in uniform standing with Nazi flags in Neuburg an der Donau, Germany.

    Contains an air mail envelope written while Kaunas was under occupation; five original Vilna Ghetto arrest documents; and an original signed receipt for 18,837 Litai received from the American Joint Distribution Committee, Vilnius, intended for "the Jewish Section for War-Sufferers, Lithuanian Red Cross."

  16. Rudolf Heilborn postcards from Buchenwald

    Contains two postcards written by Rudolf Heilborn from Buchenwald to Ruth Heilborn in Gleiwitz, Germany, in November and December of 1938. Rudolf Heilborn was among the Jews of Gleiwitz who were arrested by the Gestapo during Kristallnacht then deported to Buchenwald.

  18. The Alfred Wiener documents collection

    The documents were collected by Dr. Wiener and his assistants from the early 1930s, during the war and its aftermath, until the late 1970s. As they constitute the library’s core, these documents were the first to be digitized and accessible online. They include the correspondence and decrees of various Nazi agencies, documents from concentration camps, and documentation of the activities, the life and the fate of Jewish associations, communities, and individuals before, during and after the Holocaust.
