  1. Kluizen - Coffres-forts. Collection

    This collection consists of the bank vaults which were not claimed by their original owners post-war. The owners were both Jewish and non-Jewish war victims or refugees who did not return to Belgium. The vaults do not contain any valuables, but documents including securities and personal documents, family photos, and objects such as cutlery, photo cameras and tableware. This collection is not accessible to third parties. Relatives who might be entitled to the content of one of the vaults are requested to contact archives@kazernedossin.eu

  7. Albert and Robert Gomperts. Collection

    Letter sent by brothers Albert and Robert (Bob) Gompers to their uncle and aunt Jules and Jet Boas in Canada after the brothers had been able to flee from Belgium to Great-Britain during the German invasion. The letter contains information regarding family members left behind in Belgium and the Netherlands during the first weeks of May 1940.

  8. Steinhardt-Safier family. Collection

    The Steinhardt-Safier family collection contains 28 photos showing the prewar Steinhardt and Safier family life : pictures taken on boat rides during vacations, wedding photos taken at a synagogue in Berlin, baby pictures of Harry Henri Steinhardt, family parties and Passover celebrations, and the Safier family at their bakery in Berlin. The collection also contains a post-war letter from the Belgian Ministry of Public Affairs confirming the deportation of the Steinhardt-Safier family and two family trees clarifying the ties between the Steinhardt and Safier families.

    This collection contains seven photos : one photo of Louis Paulissen and his father Jozef Paulissen in the courtyard of their farm in As, the province of Limburg ; six photos of Benedikt Felsen and Regina Degen posing with members of the Paulissen family while staying at their farm in 1941.

    This collection contains five pictures of the Dublon-Beerman family : two photos of the sisters Lore and Eva Dublon, two group photos of the extended Dublon-Beerman family, and one photo of the Dublon-Beerman family with friends on deck of the MS St. Louis on its way to Cuba.

  12. Else Raesener. Collection

    This item is a short letter sent by Else Raesener, living in Brussels, to her daughter Lea Raesener, living in Palestine, via the Red Cross only a few weeks before Else's arrest and deportation. It would be her last sign of life.

  13. Luttinger-Ohrwaschel family. Collection

    This collection contains five pre-war photos of Cilli Ohrwaschel, her children Lea and Max Singer, and Cilli's second husband Wolfgang Luttinger.

  14. Klein-Silberstein family. Collection

    This collection contains twelve photos, among which a wedding photo of Josef Klein and Lotte Silberstein, photos of Silberstein and Kantorowicz family members including one under the Eiffel tower, photos of the Klein sisters including one taken at the monastery in Sugny where they were hidden and a post-war photo of the Klein sisters taken upon arrival in Canada.

  15. Orenbuch-Aspich family. Collection

    This collection contains four photos of the Orenbuch family, depicting Benjamin Orenbuch and his wife Rywka Laja Aspich, their daughters Tauba alias Thérèse Orenbuch (married Paciorkowski), Fajga alias Fanny Orenbuch (married Ajzenberg) and Roza Orenbuch, and their granddaughter Josiane Ajzenberg (married Traum).

    A diplomatic service passport issued by the Republic of Liberia, represented by Baron O. de Bogaerde, Minister Plenipotentiary, to Matus and Chaja Kugel-Rubin, granting them diplomatic immunity and allowing them to travel to Spain and Portugal. The passport also contains wartime visa for Italy and Monaco.

    A diplomatic service passport issued by the Republic of Liberia, represented by Baron O. de Bogaerde, Minister Plenipotentiary, to Kelman Charles Mincberg, granting him diplomatic immunity and allowing them to travel to Spain and Portugal.

    A Dutch passport issued in October 1940 by the Vice-consul for the Netherlands in Toulouse, France, to Heyman Roet and his wife Catharina Freso. The document contains a photo of both spouses and visa for Spain and Portugal as well as for the United Kingdom

    This collection contains: documents regarding the service of Josef Weisz in the Czechoslovakian Army while in the United Kingdom during the Second World War ; correspondence (telegrams and postcards) from and to relatives in Belgium ; the diary of Blima alias Betty Sztajnberg who fled from Antwerp to the United Kingdom in 1940 with her mother and sister ; five photos, including pictures of Josef Weisz while serving in the Czechoslovakian army and pre-war photos of social and professional gatherings
