    Consists of various memorabilia items collected by Fred Bayer during the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg. Includes: a book entitled "Nurnberg" by Charles W. Alexander used by Fred Bayer to collect the autographs of the war criminals; passes for Fred Bayer for the Palace of Justice; photographs from the IMT; and hand- written notes by Bayer describing the war criminals.

  5. Kay Foldvary papers relating to post-liberation Dachau

    Contains "Recollections of Dachau, May 1945" and "Memories of Life in U.S. Army, 1942 and 116th Evacuation Hosp. in Europe 1944-1945," both written by Karessa (Kay Foldvary). The date of the memoirs is unknown. Both memoirs relate to Foldvary's experiences as a United States Army nurse at Dachau concentration camp after the liberation. Also includes 52 photographs of original photographs from a photo album compiled by Foldvary. The photos depict images of post-liberation Dachau and are accompanied by handwritten captions from Kay Foldvary.

  6. Calvin S. Grant papers relating to the liberation of Buchenwald

    Contains a canteen coupon from Buchenwald; a 14 May 1945 news article entitled "Medicine;" and a 5 May 1945 issue of "Armored attacker" containing articles about the liberation of Buchenwald by the 6th U.S. Armored Division.

  7. Gilden Meyer papers relating to Wöbbelin

    Contain matierals relating to the Wöbbelin concentration camp. They include a speech delivered at the burial service for victims of Wöbbelin on 08 May 1945; copies of the speech by Harry C. Cain, US Army Directory of Military Government (G-5), from the aforesaid booklet; an audiotape version of the speech read by Meyer Gilden; and a color copy of a painting of the memorial at Wöbbelin with Cain's speech inscribed. *See the Meyer Gilden donor file for more detailed information about the painting.

    "KZ: Bildbericht aus fünf Konzentrationslagern," published by Amerikanischen Kriegsinformationsamt, with handwritten annotations by George Leftoff. The pamphlet contains information about and photographs of Buchenwald, Bergen-Belsen, Nordhausen, and Ohrdruf concentration camps, and information and photographs relating to the massacre at Gardelegen Germany. Also contains a photograph of a former concentration camp prisoner, Lustig Markus (a.k.a. Mousie).

    Contains information about Irving Lisman's (b. 1912) experiences as a ambulance driver in the 122nd Medical Battalion of the 42nd United States Infantry Division during the liberation of Dachau.

    The Sidney Stenzler papers consist of correspondence documenting the situation of Displaced Persons at Landsberg in 1945, photographs of Dachau and Buchenwald, and writings and speeches describing the Warsaw Ghetto, the plight of DPs, and the deaths of Italian Holocaust victims. Correspondence primarily consists of V‐Mail and letters from Stenzler to his wife describing his activities with DPs in Landsberg and his trip to Dachau.   14. Hugh M. Jenkins papers

    Contains photocopies of a personal narrative by Hugh Jenkins describing his experiences in Bergen-Belsen as well as British Red Cross and British military documents relating to the camp after liberation. Also contains photocopies of two photographs depicting the burning of structures at Bergen-Belsen.

  15. Records relating to post-liberation Buchenwald and Dachau

    The collection contains an undated inspection report of a VIP tour of Buchenwald (circa April 1945); an essay concerning the liberation of Dachau written by Tec. 3 James W. Creasman, member of the 42nd Infantry Division; and a typed note from Kurt Weiler to his wife concerning the safe keeping of these documents.

    Contains a copy of a newsletter published by the 45th Air Depot Group entitled "The Log." The 14 May 1945 issue contains the article "We Say Dachau." It describes the experiences of a 45th Air Depot Group task force sent to Dachau on a fact finding mission.

  18. Paul Seres papers

    Consists of 20 photographs depicting scenes at post-liberation Ebensee and a notice entitled "The Camp of Ebensee" with handwritten annotations by Paul Seres. The notice contains information about the evolution of the camp, conditions for prisoners, and atrocities committed by the camp commanders. It appears to have been written by a camp prisoner shortly after liberation. The photographs and the "notice" were collected by Paul Seres shortly after the liberation of Ebensee. An annotation on the cover states that it was presented to Paul Seres by a French prisoner in Ebensee.
