The documents were in the possessions of Ralph Falkenstein. His daughter, Hilde Pride, gave them to the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati in January 1994. Abe Peck of the American Jewish Archives removed the Holocaust-related documents from the collection and donated them on to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in the same month.
Scope and Content
Contains an unsigned report, 06 May 1945, concerning the conditions in Gunskirchen, a subcamp of Mauthausen concentration camp, at the time of liberation and an undated report by Major Cameron Coffman describing the conditions in the camp and the activities of the 71st Infantry Division in the liberation of the camp.
