  1. Zalman Lubocki memoir

    The memoir of Zalman Lubocki of Kaunas, Lithuania is his eyewitness account of the German invasion in June 1941, life in the Kovno (Kaunas) ghetto, imprisonment at Stutthof, hard labor, liberation, and his arrival as a displaced person at Landsberg, Germany. The collection is comprised of the original copy of the 100 page memoir written in Yiddish in 1945 when Zalman was living in a displaced persons camp in Landsberg am Lech, Germany.

  2. Zamojre/Eckstein family collection

    Consists of 1pre-war photographs of the Zamojre and Eckstein families, originally of Germany; one photograph of the interior of the synagogue in Bad Nauheim, Germany, taken in 1946; and pre and post-war documents and photographs related to the education of Joseph Zamojre (now Zamora).

  3. Zangwill family collection

    The collection includes an envelope and letter sent to Liby Kaplan in Slonim, Poland (present day Belarus) from her family in New Jersey in August 1939 and a letter and envelope from Liby Kaplan to her family in New Jersey postmarked August 17, 1939. The collection also includes two photographic postcards of Liby Kaplan and her husband.

  4. Zarembski-Ferst-Kostanski-Wierzbicki families photograph collection

    Contains photographs of the Zarembski, Ferst, Kostansk, and Wierzbicki families. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.

  5. Zarnicer family collection

    Document issued on behalf of Esther Zarnicer [donor’s maternal grandmother], living in Camp de Gurs [Ilôt L Baraque 14], granting permission for her daughter, Ruth, to be removed from Camp de Gurs for the purpose of immigration to the United States of America. Dated 21 November 1941 and signed by “Ester” and stamped by the camp director. Includes a photograph of Ruth’s parents, Esther and Robert Zarnicer [who died in 1932]. Ruth and her her brother Hugo were placed in the Chabannes children's home before later going into hiding under false names. Esther was deported and killed.

  13. Zbirka stampata, brošure and plakati Collection of printed materials, pamphlets and posters from Croatia

    This collection contains printed matter relating to the Holocaust in the Independent State of Croatia (sic), including regulations prohibiting Jews to appear in public places, the obligation for Jews to wear the Star of David on the left sleeve of their clothing, the registration of Jewish property, the movement of Jews into ghettos, the prohibition of sexual relations between Jews and non-Jews, and the like.

  15. Zdenka Eismannova collection

    The collection consists of five watercolor paintings of camp life created by Zdenka Eismannova while she was imprisoned in Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia during the Holocaust.

  16. Zdenka Steiner Novak family collection

    The collection consists of artifacts, a photo album, a cookbook, documents, sketches, correspondence, photographs, Zdenka's memoir, "Story of My Life," and her school records. The papers are part of a collection documenting Zdenka Steiner Novak and the Steiner family's experiences in Zagreb, Yugoslavia (now Zagreb, Croatia) before, during, and after World War II.

  17. Zdenko Bergl collection

    Consists of two false documents issued to Zdenko Bergl and his mother in Mirabella Eclano, Italy, in September 1943; four documents issued to Zdenko Bergl in the Cinecitta displaced persons camp near Rome, Italy, in 1946 and 1947; a photocopy of a certificate issued to Zdenko Bergl's father in 1940 in his hometown of St. Ivan Zabno in Croatia; a photograph of Zdenko Bergl and two friends in the Cinecitta DP camp in 1947; and a circa 1932 photograph of a brick factory, which belonged to Zdenko Bergl's father.

  19. Ze’ev Raveh Werba collection

    The Ze’ev Raveh Werba collections consist of a tablecloth, documents, awards, certificates, manuscripts, and photographs documenting Ze’ev Raveh Werba in prewar Maniewicze, Poland (Manevychi, Ukraine), as a partisan during the war, and after the war in the Adriatic displaced persons camp in Italy and then in Israel. Documents recognize Werba for his participation as a partisan and in the Israeli Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. The manuscripts describe Werba’s experiences during and after the Holocaust.   20. Zeev Rebhun collection

    Collection contains information regarding Buchenwald and Sachsenhausen concentration camps, including lists of Jews deported, maps of the camps, and official reports; videotape entitled "The final solution." The name lists are from the Sachsenhausen archives, NARA, and Yad Vashem archives.
