    With each article is a covering letter from the author in London to the publisher (?), Max Sievers, in Brussels. The first covering letter makes mention of the fact that the author wishes to remain anonymous in the interests of the security of his parents, who were still living in Germany.

  4. Copy letter re conditions at Drancy

    This copy letter re conditions in Drancy during the Nazi era was enclosed with an account of life in Drancy called There by the Grace of God by the depositor, A.R. Thomas. The latter is now housed with the Unpublished Memoirs, Number 4101. The letter, which is addressed to Serge Klarsfeld, the prominent Nazi hunter, is signed by five former British merchant navy seamen who were prisoners at Drancy. The purpose of the letter is to offer support to Klarsfeld in his prosecution of Paul Touvier, a former member of the regime at Drancy.
