  2. "Mom's story, dad remembers"

    Consists of a videocassette entitled "Mom's story, dad remembers," by Victor Friedmann. On the video, Mr. Friedmann tells the story of his parents, Otto and Lenka Friedmann, and their experiences during the Holocaust, including their successful attempts to evade the Nazis by escaping from Zagreb to Split, Yugoslavia (Lenka's hometown), then to Italy, and finally to the United States. The video also includes family photographs.

  3. Robert Berg videocassettes

    Consists of two videocassettes related to the Holocaust experiences of Robert Berg. The first, entitled "Poland, May 1995" includes a visit to Mr. Berg's hometown of Adamov, Poland, and the commemorative ceremonies for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp. The second videocassette, entitled "Adamov, Poland Remembered," includes footage of the restoration of the Jewish cemetery and dedication of the memorial monument in Adamov, Poland in 2002.

  4. Werner Gumprecht letter

    The 16-page, typewritten letter was written by Werner Gumprecht in Seville, Spain, and details the beginning of his family's experiences during their immigration from Hamburg, Germany, to the United States in 1941. The Gumprechts left Germany on July 21, 1941, and arrived in N.Y. on September 12, 1941. Their relatives who remained in Germany were deported between October and December 1941 and never heard from again.

  5. Book

    Mishna entrusted to siblings Otto and Greta Schneck by their parents Regina and Sisman Schneck upon the children's emigration to the United States from Vienna, Austria, in 1937. Sisman and Regina were unable to leave Europe and died in the Holocaust. A Mishna is the oral redaction of Jewish law and Rabbinical discussions composed under the direction of Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi around 200 CE.

  6. Julia Pirotte testimony regarding Kielce

    Consists of a five page excerpt from the oral history of Julia Pirotte regarding her memories of the 1946 pogrom in Kielce, Poland. Ms. Pirotte went to Kielce as a journalist and photographer and describes the photographs she took of the violence.

  7. Bergen-Belsen liberation photographs

    Consists of seven photographs taken upon the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The photographs depict corpses laid out in preparation for burial, as well as one photograph of the camp commandant, Josef Kramer.

  8. Records of the Perl Gologorer Benevolent Society

    Consists of the records of the Perl Gologorer Benevolent Society, formed in 1938 for the promotion of the social discourse among the members, as well as to assist the inhabitants of Gologorer, Poland. Includes account books, membership dues account books, membership correspondence, miscellaneous receipts, a copy of a cemetery deed, minutes of meetings, a certificate of incorporation, a copy of a certificate of incorporation, and a constitution.

  9. Woebbelin/Dillenberg photographs

    Consists of 130 photographs taken upon the liberation of the Woebbelin concentration camp; photographs of the citizens of Ludwigslust, Germany, burying the victims of Woebbelin and participating in a funeral ceremony; and photographs of survivors in the Dillenberg, Germany, displaced persons camp.

  10. Album regarding the liberation of Spittal (Stalag XVIII)

    Consists of one spiral bound album presented to Louis Margel from the "War Prisoner's Aid of the Y.M.C.A." The album contains photographs of the liberation of the Spittal, Austria, prisoner of war camp (Stalag XVIII) and of life in the Spittal displaced persons camp.

  11. Benjamin Finesmith collection

    Consists of photographs and photographic negatives, taken upon the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp. Also contains correspondence from American soldier Benjamin Finesmith asking family and friends to send care packages to the displaced persons in the Bindermichl displaced persons camp.

  13. Etlya Katzman Fisher photograph collection

    The collection consists of ten photographs relating to Etlya Katzman Fisher and her family's life during the Holocaust in Bender, Moldova (Tighina, Romania) and Krasnodarskiĭ kraĭ, Russia. The photographs include images of Etlya Katzman Fisher's classmates at girls' schools in Romania and the Soviet Union.

  14. Ralph Markowitz papers

    The papers consist of a medical card issued to Rafal Markowicz [donor] for immigration, a photograph of Markowicz wearing a police uniform in the Zeilsheim displaced persons camp, a photograph of Markowicz and Allan Greenstein, who was also a member of the police force in the Zeilsheim DP camp, and a photograph of [from left to right] Nathan Shanak, David [last name unknown], and Celia and Harry Markowitz [donor's brother and sister-in-law] taken in the Zeilsheim DP camp.

  15. Ajbeszyc family papers

    The collection consists of document, correspondence, and photographs regarding the Holocaust-era experiences of Gerszon Ajbeszyc and his wife Adela Ajbeszyc (née Fiszel). Included are false-identity identification papers used by Gerszon and Adela, birth certificates, marriage documents, restitution paperwork, and family photographs.

  16. Raphael Aronson photograph collection

    The collection consists of a collection of 22 photographs which Raphael Aronson found in an apartment in Linz, Austria, in 1946. The photographs depict Jews in the ghettos in Łod́ź and Warsaw, Poland, as well as pre-World War II photographs of antisemitic graffiti on Jewish establishments.

  17. Harold Goldstein photographs

    Consists of six photographs taken by Harold Goldstein, a member of the 45th Division of the United States Army, during World War II. Photographs depict a warehouse of Nazi plunder, German prisoners and Armistice Day in France, and a memorial service in Munich, Germany.

  18. Sigmund Klausner collection

    Consists of newspaper clippings, photoprints, and photocopies related to the family of Sigmund Klausner, originally of Frankfurt, Germany. Includes a copy of a pre-war photograph of Mr. Klausner's family, a photograph of Mr. Klausner in the Pithiviers, France, concentration camp, and an article about the family written by Mr. Klausner's nephew, Leon Rubinstein. Also includes a photocopy of a document verifying the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. Klausner and their sons, Edgar and Leo, in the Holocaust.

  19. "The Romanian Jews During W.W. II"

    Consists of one manuscript, 46 pages, entitled "The Romanian Jews During W.W.II," by Neha Weinstein Voigt, originally of Iasi, Romania. In the manuscript, Weinstein describes the history of the Holocaust in Romania, including the destruction of Iasi's Jews. Also includes a folder of clippings and letters regarding Mrs. Voigt's Holocaust experiences and photographs of Mrs. Voigt and of her parents.
