  1. Letter regarding the liberation of Buchenwald concentration camp

    Consists of one letter, date April 26 [1945], from "Guy," an otherwise unknown author, describing his experiences as a member of the United States military while touring the Buchenwald concentration camp after the liberation of the camp. In the letter, he describes the various buildings in the camp, the survivors he met, and the way the camp operated. The letter was found in the personal papers of Mrs. Casimir de Rham of Tuxedo Park, NY.

    The Fischgrund family letters consists of two letters, one each in German and English, written to Adolph Fischgrund of New York City in 1939. The letters, one written by a member of the family of Moritz Fischgrund of Bratislava and the other written by Otto Fischgrund of Brünn (now Brno, Czech Republic), describe the plights of the families and ask Mr. Fischgrund, who may or may not be a relation, if he would consider sponsoring them for immigration or to give money to help them.
