Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny im. Emanuela Ringelbluma (ŻIH), Sygn.318. Records created by the Union of Jews-Former Participants of Military Combat with Nazizm has been transferred to ŻIH after 1950, the date of the Union liquidation.The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from ŻIH via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Sep. 2010.

Scope and Content

Contains documents relating to activities of the Union of Jews-Former Participants of Military Combat with Nazism. Mostly correspondence, circular letters, minutes of meetings, resolutions, addresses, plans of ceremonies, invitations, personal files of the staff and combatants.

The system of arrangement of the source repository has been preserved in the microfilmed reels and digital images. Arranged in four series: 1: Correspondence, minutes and personal files of staff; 2: Personal files of the combatants; 3: Files of the Union offices; 4: Miscellaneous documents.
