Nazi flag captured by Barry Ziff, an American G.I. liberator, April 1945, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The flag was captured from the flagpole in front of the German army headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany on April 3, 1945 by Sergeant Barry Ziff of the 550th Antiaircraft Battalion with the 89th Infantry Division.

The letter was written by Barry Ziff to his parents on April 9, 1945 while serving in the United States Army in Germany.
