Acquisition

The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1997 by Regina and Samuel Spiegel. Accretions may have been added to this collection.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a handcrafted metal box and a suitcase relating to the experiences of Regina and Sam Spiegel after the Holocaust in Germany where they lived as displaced persons after their liberation from concentration camps. Also incldues photograph albums documenting the couple's postwar life. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.
