The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1994 by Brigitte Freidin.

The collection consist of documents related to the World War I experiences of Siegfried Mändle and the Mändle family’s 1939 immigration documents. It also consists of three publications realting to the family.

The Mändle family papers consist of documents related to the World War I experiences of Siegfried Mändle and the Mändle family’s 1939 immigration documents. Siegfried Mändle, Reida Mändle, and Brigette Mändle emigrated from Augsburg, Germany to the United States in 1939 aboard the Volendam.
