Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Klaipėdos regioninis valstybės archyvas (Klaipėda Regional State Archives), Lithuania. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in February 2017 and accretion in May 2018. This is a joint project USHMM and Yad Vashem.

Scope and Content

Minutes and decisions of the Agricultural Committees regarding the expropriation of the private property (farms, shops, small business etc.) in the Klaipeda County by the Soviet authorities during and after World War II.

System of Arrangement

Arranged in three series: 1.Kretinga county and district, Agricultural Committee, 1945-1947: Registers of farms, transfers of lands, and files of individual and company cases related to land management; 2. The Executive Committee of Kretinga County, Working People's Deputies, 1945-1950: Lists of nationalized houses, protocols of the County Executive Committee, resolutions and decisions of the County Executive Committee; 3. Tauragė County, Švėkšna district, Agricultural Committee, 1940-1941: Individual files of land expropriation (organized by names of individuals (alphabetical order) in particular villages). Note: Digital files organized in numerical order of Fond.
