Acquisition

The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2005 and 2014 by Reha Abraham Sokolow, daughter of Ruth and Walter Abraham.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a scarf, a clothes and a hair brush, documents, a letter and photographs relating to the experiences of Ruth and Walter Abraham, their daughter, Reha, and other family members in Berlin, Germany, before, during, and after the Holocaust, including two years spent living in hiding.

Silver clothes brush saved by Ruth Fromm Abraham, while living in hiding in Berlin from 1943 to 1945. It may originally have belonged to her mother Frieda Fromm who was deported on July 24, 1942.
