Colorful candy tin and lid obtained by 9 year old Marion Kaufmann when it was distributed on May 5, 1945, to celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands from German occupation. It is decorated with an image of the three young royal princesses, Beatrix, Irene, and Margriet, and the Dutch flag. Marion's parents, Lina and Walter, owned an electrical repair shop in Berlin that was destroyed during Kristallnacht, November 9-10, 1938. Queen Wilhemina of the Netherlands 1898-1948 miniature medal with striped ribbon acquired by twelve year old Marion Kaufmann. The medal was issued to commemorate the end of Queen Wilhemina's nearly 58 year reign upon the September 4, 1948, abdication of the throne in favor of her daughter Juliana.
