Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Tytus Chalubinski Tatrzanskie Museum (Muzeum Tatrzanskie im. Tytusa Chalubinskiego) in Zakopane, Poland. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Nov. 2002.

Scope and Content

Contains the underground press collection of 25 titles, issued mostly by resistance organizations. Among other publishers are the Armia Krajowa (Home Army), the Armia Ludowa (People's Army) and the Stronnictwo Narodowe (National Party).

The system of arrangement of the source repository has been preserved in the microfilmed reel. This collection is arranged by the newspaper titles, and chronologically.
