Acquisition
Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Source of acquisition is the Ministerul Apărării Naționale, Romania (Ministry of National Defence). Gift presented by the Minister of Defense, Ioan Mircea Pascu, to Sara Bloomfield. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the records in June 2001 via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archives Program. Additional two parts of documents received in Apr. 2003, ca. 70 000 pages of photocopies. The ca. 70,000 photocopied pages were transferred to an archive in Romania in Feb. 2004 through the International Archives Program.
Scope and Content
Contains orders and instructions concerning the forced labor of Jews, inspection and screening of Jews for work, medical assistance for Jews, name lists of Jews, and miscellaneous correspondence regarding forced labor, food, equipment and housing. Documents range in date from November 3, 1942 to April 2, 1942.
