Państwowe Muzeum na Majdanku

Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Państwowe Muzeum na Majdanku (Majdanek State Museum), Sygn. III. The private documents of the personnel of the Majdanek concentration camp were found after the war on the territory of the camp. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the collection from the Majdanek State Museum via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in July 2012.

Scope and Content

Contains various documents from concentration camp KL Lublin-Majdanek, e.g. identification cards (Personalasweis), soldier’s identification cards (Soldbuch), private and official correspondence, certificates and calendars.

System of Arrangement

Arranged in three series: 1 (16) III : 1 Documents of Johann Dekiert (12 pages) ; 2. Documents of Hans Ronig, Josef Höcherl (27 pages); 3. Documents of Joachim Stücke, Albert Porr, Hans, Müller, Julius Schmütz, Josef Tomand (57 pages).
