Biographical History
Established in April 1944 as the territorial branch of the Extraordinary State Commission for the Investigation of the crimes of German Nazi invaders and their accomplices, and the losses caused by them to citizens, collective farms, public organizations, state enterprises and institutions of the USSR. It was engaged in collecting documentary information, checking and systematizing materials about the crimes of the Nazi occupiers, establishing the size of material damage caused to enterprises, institutions, organizations and citizens, compiling lists of executed persons and those who were forcibly taken to Germany, war criminals.
Scope and Content
Registers of documents, statements of material damage caused to individuals, collective farms, state enterprises, institutions. Summaries of information on losses incurred by occupants in the cities and districts of the region. Acts, registers, questionnaires containing information about the executed, tortured communists, Soviet activists, prisoners of war, civilians, Jews. Lists of individuals deported to forced labor in Germany. Questionnaires, testimonies, memories of persons who returned from German captivity. Report on the results of calculation of losses and the investigation of crimes by Nazi occupants in all branches of the national economy of the region. Acts on the detection of mass graves, lists of graves of Red Army soldiers who perished during the liberation of the Volyn region. Lists of villages in the area destroyed during the war. Documents of commissions for the restoration of settlements destroyed during the war.

Biographical History
Образована в феврале 1944 г. после освобождения Волынской обл. от немецких войск и закончила свою работу в феврале 1945 г. В состав областной комиссии, которая руководила городскими и районными чрезвычайными комиссиями, входили представители прокуратуры, следственных органов, медики, советские и партийные работники. В задачу комиссии входило выявление фактов преступной деятельности оккупантов на территории области, установление величины материального ущерба, нанесенного предприятиям, учреждениям, организациям и гражданским лицам, а также составление списков расстрелянных, насильно перемещенных лиц и военных преступников. На основе материалов комиссий органами прокуратуры возбуждались уголовные дела по факту совершения преступлений. Впоследствии (в 1976 г.) была создана также областная комиссия по установлению населенных пунктов, уничтоженных в годы Великой Отечественной войны
Scope and Content
Среди отложившихся в фонде материалов акты осмотра мест массовых расстрелов еврейского населения, протоколы допросов их свидетелей и списки расстрелянных евреев. Имеются также данные о численности и национальном составе населения области после ее освобождения от немецких войск в Олыкском, Колковском, Киверцовском, Луцком, Теремновском, Голобском, Цуманском, Рожищенском районах, а также в ряде населенных пунктов (Колки, Рожище и Луцк).
