Archival History

The material was collected by Janko Spreitzer, the former director of the Ljubljana prisons. In 1978, his widow Ivanka Spreitzer gave it to the IZDG archive for safekeeping. In 1984, the IZDG Archive purchased the material. It has been in AS since November 1992.

Finding Aids

  • Finding aid is available to researchers via the Virtual Archive Reading Room (VARR) https://vac.sjas.gov.si/vac. The VARR information solution provides users with a tool for ordering and using physical and electronic archival material in Slovenian archives (in addition to the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, six regional archives from Ljubljana, Maribor, Celje, Ptuj, Koper and Nova Gorica). After successful registration, login and confirmation of the user account by the administrator of the VARR system, the user can order materials and reproductions. The detailed finding aid for this collection is also available via VARR as pfd, comprises 11 pages and contains a brief description of the archival material found in a collection.
