Auctioning off Jewish properties; internment of 2164 Jews; activity related to internment of Jews in camps and using them for labor by both Romanians and Germans; list of Jews in Camp Răuțel; lists of Jews by trade (all Jews from Camps in Bălți were transferred in September (?) 1941 to a Camp in Mărculești, district Soroca); documents on the 'Jewish question' (on September 1941 there are no more Jews in the district Bălți); Jews caught after that date were sent to camps in other districts; dispositions for mixed marriages, the wife having converted; order to confiscate pictures taken at the Jewish cemetery during the execution of the Jews who did participate in the rebellion in June, and of convoys of Jews crossing the Dnjestr; documents regarding persons who were authorized to occupy the homes left by deported Jews; investigation of ethnic origin and of mixed marriages, due to reports from informants; preparations for the census of the Jews; list of Jews in forced labor units in the district; investigation of reports from informants regarding the ethnic origin and the occupation of persons with Jewish blood or presumed so; Jewish craftspeople present for work in the district; also complaints for the “too good” treatment given the Jews from the forced labor units; also their contacts with the local population; list of Jews in the forced labor unit; a detailed description of the origins, numbers and occupations, cultural, political and religious organizations of the Jews, number and present occupation of baptized Jews living in the district, as well as Armenians, Polish, Ukrainians, Russians, Lipovans, Bulgarians; local characteristics of each minority and directions to follow according to them; movement of Jews from the forced labor units; orders to intensify their surveillance on contact with the population; list of Jews who escaped from the camps in Golta, Transnistria et al.

Biographical History

Conform actului unirii din anul 1918 a Basarabiei cu România, a fost realizată o rețea de instituții, care aveau misiunea de a organiza ordinea publică. Prin Decretul Guvernului României din 1918 privind organizarea poliției în fiecare județ au fost deschise Prefecturile Poliției și instituite Brigăzile Speciale ale Siguranței. Prefecturile poliției se aflau în subordinea Direcții Penerale a Poliției și Siguranței din România, iar Brigăzile Speciale ale Siguranței erau în subordinea Inspectoratului General de Siguranță din Basarabia. În 1929, Prefecturile Poliției și Brigăzile Speciale au fost reorganizate în Chesturi de Poliție în frunte cu un chestor și un secretar cu funcții de adjunct. Chesturile de Poliție activau sub supravegherea Inspectoratului Regional de Poliție din Basarabia. În componența Poliției orașului Bălți intrau: Secția administrativă, Secția judiciară, Secția siguranță, Secția serviciilor externe, Detașamentul de poliție. În 1944 Poliția orașului Bălți își încetează activitatea.

Conține materiale despe licitația organizată pentru vinderea proprietățiilor confiscate de la evrei; despre înmormîntarea evreilor din lagăre; listele evreilor din lagărul din Răuțel, listele evreilor din lagărul din Bălți ce au fost transferați în lagărul din Mărgulești, județul Soroca; documente administrative și directive; documente prin care s-a decis cine va trăi în casele evreilor deportați; listele evreilor din unitățile de muncă forțată; materiale despre pregătirea recensămîntului evreilor; descrierea detaliată a originelor, numărului și ocupațiilor culturale, politice și religioase organizațiilor evreiești; materiale ce analizează contactul evreilor cu populația locală și ordine de intensificare a supravegherii lagărelor; lista evreilor ce au reușit să fugă din lagărul Golta, Transnistria.
