Documentation regarding activities on behalf of the documentation of the Holocaust, during the 1940s and 1950s - Correspondence between Jacob Robinson and historian Salo Baron, 1946; - Correspondence between Robinson and Stephen Wise, 1947; - Article written by Jacob Leshchinsky, regarding the Institute of Jewish Affairs, 1948; - Memoranda and correspondence of John Fried, the American archivist who administered the Archives division of the YIVO Institute during the 1950s; [Comment:] The gathering of the documentation was started in 1946 by activists who were active on behalf of the collection of documentation of various types from countries in Europe in order to bring the documentation to the United States and to Eretz Israel; the collection process was accelerated with the establishment of the State of Israel, mainly during the 1950s, with crews in Israel and outside Israel who dedicated themselves to the documentation project, and who collected and registered documentation, books and articles regarding the Holocaust; during the same period and in the decade that followed, Jacob Robinson started to develop the project and to systematically write, from an academic viewpoint, about the events that took place during the Holocaust period.
