Marcel Gradwohl, born in Pfaffenhoffen, France, 1921, known as Girdal; details regarding his activities in the French Jewish underground during World War II Underground activities in La Sixieme (the Sixth) of the EIF (French Jewish Scouts); arrested by the French militia in Saint Flour while en route with his brother to join the Maquis, 10 August 1944; executed by shooting, along with his brother, 14 June 1944; awarded the Medaille de la Resistance and the Croix de Guerre.
