Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 53, dated 03 June 1940 forbidding the receipt of food parcels from outside the ghetto by order of the authorities Those who do receive food parcels must inform the senders of the prohibition; money may be sent in place of food; the money must be deposited in the special ghetto bank account.
